World Mental Health Day – 10th October 2015


World Mental Health Day aims to promote public awareness of mental issues worldwide. This year the day falls within Queensland Mental Health Week 4th October – 11th October 2015. The focus for Queensland Mental Health Week this year was ‘Value Mental Health’.

World Mental Health Day in Australia set its focusing on three objectives:

  1. Encourage help seeking behaviour
  2. Reduce stigma associated with mental illness
  3. Foster connectivity throughout communities

Mental Health Australia, a not-for-profit organisation is leading the WMHD campaign in Australia. As part of the campaign Mental Health Australia invites everyone to make a personal mental health promise (regardless of their current mental health).
